Large St Ninian's Isle Sword Chape Silver Pendant

Based on a Pictish-era sword chape from the St Ninian's Isle Silver hoard, this large pendant is the work of

George Malcolm Smith, a Shetland silversmith active between 1960 and 1974.

His designs were acquired by Ola Gorie of Orkney when he was unable to continue working (source- Silvermakersmarks.co.uk).

Marked and tests for silver.

Chain not original. Condition- very good.
