Openwork Silver Birlinn Brooch with Flag

Marked and tested as silver but with no hallmarks or makers mark. Possibly mid 1960s.

Approx 32mm across with a loop at the top and waves beneath the hull.

The birlinn itself doesn't correspond to any of the examples in the 'Argyllshire Galleys, Some Typical Examples from Tomb Slabs and Crosses' by Lord Archibald Campbell (1906) but it does resemble some Ritchie examples, particularly on door fingerplates.

In good condition.
